| Some of my Fife collection of slides from the 1980's, mainly taken on day trips through the Kingdom or of interlopers from Fife which have crossed my path wherever I've been at the time. Included are some shots in the original Ayres red with cream band livery as well as the later version of Ayres red with cream 'tween decks. A fair selection of traditional Fife vehicles along with some of the acquired Fleetlines and Atlanteans obtained from Grampian. Perhaps amongst the most choice Fife vehicles of the the time were the charismatic early Volvo Ailsas which offered the full orchestral sound effects of the Ailsa symphony!
Fife changed from the traditional Alexanders inspired alpha numeric fleetnumbering system (FRA, FPE, etc) to a straight numeric series early in 1988 which is reflected in the order that the gallery displays the scans in. A few of these slides are taken on high speed film in low wintry sun conditions which shows in the grainy quality but are included for the sake of interest. These slides are taken on a variety of 64, 100 and 200 ASA slide film and scanned with a Nikon Coolscan V ED film scanner |
