It is no secret for those who know me that I grew up in Highland territory and have both taken and collected slides and photographs of the Highland fleet for many years. Even during the twelve years I spent working in Renfrewshire, Ayrshire and Glasgow, I had regular family trips which took in the passing bus scene, prior to moving back north to Moray in 1999. Highland was a fascinating fleet to grow up surrounded by in the 1970s and 1980s, and I am sorry that my family were not camera buffs as I did not pick up my own first decent SLR until 1981. This collection of scanned slides covers the 1980s around the Highlands, and I have opened a 1990s collection as well. Highland's fleet numbering system changed in 1985 to reflect the introduction of the early Wayfarer ticket machines and this will apparent in the collection here. These images are all taken on 100/200 ASA slide film and scanned using an Epson 124OU scanner.

As well as hundreds more of my own, I have a lot of copied slides from the 1960s and 1970s, and it may be possible to use some of these at some point if there is interest, once I have contacted the original photographer.
Thanks for visiting - haste ye back.
